“From ANSI to ISO:  Improvements in Performance Evaluation” (1 AIA LU/HSW/0.1 IDCEC) presented by Mike Granatowski, MAPEI. A “lunch and learn” presentation, hosted by MAPEI, on how changes in the stone industry have increased the need for performance evaluations, and on differences between ANSI and ISO and the impact of these differences on installations over the long term.

“Natural Stone and Sustainability: Exploring Trends and Advancements to Achieve High Performance”

presented by Stephanie Vierra of Vierra Design and Education Services and Christopher Green of Ago Studios.  Mr. Green represented the American Institute of Architects on the committee responsible for developing the recently launched International Green Construction Code. Learn about the inherently sustainable characteristics of natural stone in order to maximize them through a high-performance model and an integrated approach. An introduction to the International Green Construction Code will help designers understand its impact on materials decisions in sustainable projects. Case study examples will provide a range of solutions to addressing sustainability and performance goals.

“Guided Walking Tour of StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas 2012” (1 AIA LU/HSW/0.1 IDCEC) led by Vince Marazita of Marazita & Associates.  The tour will provide an overview of the international stone materials and stone processing technology markets through visits to selected exhibits at StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas.
